Guidelines for Use of RTI Online Portal

This Web portal can be used only by Indian citizens to apply for a fresh RTI, make first appeals, and make payment for fees, copying charges, etc., under the Right to Information Act, 2005.

An applicant who desires to obtain information under the RTI Act from public authorities other than the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh is advised to make an RTI application to the concerned Public Authorities through the respective Central/State Govt. Portal.

Fee for RTI application: ₹10/- per application is required.

No RTI fee is required from citizens below the poverty line as per the J&K and Ladakh (Right to Information) Rules, 2015. However, a copy of the relevant certificate issued by the concerned Govt. Authority must be attached with the application.

First Appeal fee: ₹50/- per appeal.

Applications must be filed during court working hours: 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Applications submitted after working hours will be processed on the next working day.

Upon successful submission, a unique Reference/Diary Number will be sent via SMS. Please retain this number for all future references and correspondence.

If additional fees or copying charges are applicable, the CPIO will notify the applicant, who can then make payment through this Web Portal.

The applicant or appellant must provide a valid mobile number to receive SMS alerts.

Only PDF files are accepted for document uploads on this portal.

Payment of the prescribed fee can be made through Internet Banking, Debit Card, or UPI.

Fields marked with * are mandatory. All other fields are optional.

The application text must be entered in the designated column within the form.
